An original Belgian Petite movie poster from 1964 for the release of “The Yellow Rolls Royce”
A British dramatic composite film written by Terence Rattigan, produced by Anatole de Grunwald and directed by Anthony Asquith - the same trio responsible for “The V.I.P.s” from the previous year.
The Yellow Rolls-Royce, unsurprisingly uses a yellow 1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom II to frame the triptych of stories of three very different owners: an English aristocrat - the Marquis of Frinton who purchases the car for his wife on the eve of the Ascot races.
The car is then used by a Miami gangster and his moll for a series of romantic dalliances and finally a wealthy American socialite who uses the car to ferry troops to the front. It is set in the years up to and including the start of World War II.
