An original British One Sheet poster for the 1999 re-release of the film “The Third Man", the poster was acquired directly from the vaults of Studio Canal.

The Third Man is a 1949 film noir directed by Carol Reed, written by Graham Greene, and starring Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Orson Welles and Trevor Howard, set in post-war Vienna.

The Third Man is considered one of the greatest films of all time, celebrated for its acting, musical score and atmospheric cinematography, with the British Film Institute rating it as the greatest British film of all time.

In 1949, an American writer of westerns, Holly Martins, arrives in post-war Vienna to visit his old friend Harry Lime. On arrival, he learns that his friend has been killed in a street accident and when he meets Calloway, chief of the British Military Police in Vienna, he is informed that Lime was in fact a black marketer wanted by the police. He decides to prove Harry's innocence, but is Harry really dead?
