An original Australian Daybill poster for the 1955 release of “The Way Out”

A British 'B' movie crime drama film directed and written by Montgomery Tully and starring Gene Nelson, Mona Freeman and John Bentley. It was based on the novel of the same name by Bruce Graeme. It was shot at the Merton Park Studios in London.

Greg Carradine (Gene Nelson) tells his wife Terry (Mona Freeman) that the police are after him as he has killed a bookie after a drunken binge, but he is innocent and is being framed. Terry and her brother John (Michael Goodliffe) hide him and try to find out who the killer is, but the more they investigate, the more holes they find in his story.

"The story of a blonde who wanted to go places, and a brute who got her there - the hard way!"
