An original French Petite poster, featuring artwork by the acclaimed Alain Aslan Gold for the 1970s re-issue at the "Folies Bergère", the poster has recently been cleaned before being placed on linen.

Folies Bergère refers to a famous Parisian music hall known for spectacular, often risqué, variety shows, with the name meaning "Follies of the Shepherdess," derived from its location on rue Bergère (Shepherdess Street) and folies (meaning 'craziness' or 'extravagances') for its wild entertainment. It embodies Parisian nightlife, art (famously painted by Manet), and dazzling performances with music, dance, and elaborate costumes,.

The institution is still in business, and is still a strong symbol of French and Parisian life.

It is famously recognized by the iconic art and advertising posters created by artists like Jules Chéret and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and immortalized in Édouard Manet's famous painting, 'A Bar at the Folies-Bergère'.

“"La Revue des Folies Bergere. Tous Les Soirs Chavalier a 21 Heures."
