French Can Can (also known as Only the French Can) is a 1955 musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Jean Renoir and starring Jean Gabin, Francoise Arnoul and María Félix. It marked Renoir's return to France and to French cinema after an exile that began in 1940.

Hoping to keep his financially unstable cafe in business, Henri (Jean Gabin) takes a trip to Montmartre, where he witnesses local dancers performing the can-can, a provocative dance that has fallen out of favour in the rest of France. Next, he discovers the beautiful Nina (Françoise Arnoul) and decides to bring both her and the can-can back to his cafe. While Nina and the dance cause a sensation, Lola (María Félix), the former star of Henri's establishment, sets out to sabotage the new girl.

"Qui dit fête, dit Cancan!" which translates to "When you say party, you say Cancan!"
