This is very likely one of the scarcest promotional items for this monumental film that won eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. A lenticular countertop standee that gives a 3-dimensional effect of the famous chariot scene with horses that seem to leap off the display.

Undated, but likely created for the 1969 roadshow release of the film that heralds "in 70mm and Full Stereophonic Sound."

Ben-Hur is a 1959 American religious epic film directed by William Wyler, produced by Sam Zimbalist, and starring Charlton Heston as the title character. A remake of the 1925 silent film with a similar title, it was adapted from Lew Wallace's 1880 novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. The screenplay is credited to Karl Tunberg, but includes contributions from Maxwell Anderson, S. N. Behrman, Gore Vidal, and Christopher Fry. The cast also features Stephen Boyd, Jack Hawkins, Haya Harareet, Hugh Griffith, Martha Scott, Cathy O'Donnell in her final film, and Sam Jaffe.

Judah Ben-Hur lives as a rich Jewish prince and merchant in Jerusalem at the beginning of the 1st century. Together with the new governor, his old friend Messala arrives as commanding officer of the Roman legions. At first, they are happy to meet after a long time, but their different politic views separate them. During the welcome parade a roof tile falls down from Judah's house and injures the governor. Although Messala knows they are not guilty, he sends Judah to the galleys and throws his mother and sister into prison. But Judah swears to come back and take revenge.

“It's an insane world, but still, there's one sanity that remains; the LOYALTY of old friends!!”
