A British comedy film written and directed by Val Guest and starring Yolande Donlan, Dirk Bogarde and A. E. Matthews. The film stars his future wife Donlan, who was Guest's production company partner and features Reginald Beckwith.
When the tiny European nation of Lampidorra faces bankruptcy, an American businessman buys the country. He dies before the completion of the deal, and the country is then left to his distant relative, department store employee Lindy Smith (Yolande Donlan), to solve the country's problems. During her travels, she meets British salesman Tony Craig (Dirk Bogarde), who agrees to assist her. Without many options for income, Lindy thinks an alcoholic cheese made in Lampidorra might bring success.
"Once upon a time...there was a salesgirl Ciderella who woke up one morning with a kingdom on her hands, a 'king' in her arms...and a carload of schneeze(?) You'll Laugh Your Crown Off!"
