The Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is an American drama film directed by Richard Brooks (who co-wrote the screenplay with James Poe) based on the play of the same name by Tennessee Williams. The film stars Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Burl Ives, Jack Carson and Judith Anderson.
Brick is an alcoholic ex-football player who drinks his days away while resisting the affections of his wife - Cat. A reunion with his terminally ill father brings a host of memories and revelations to the surface for both father and son.
