An original British Quad movie poster for the 1973 movie “Amarcord” by Federico Fellini, and not to be confused with the much later BFI release. Poster has the lightest of edge wear, colours are vibrant and most likely never displayed.
The stunning artwork is by renowned illustrator Vic Fair.
In an Italian seaside town, young Titta (Bruno Zanin) gets into trouble with his friends and watches various local eccentrics as they engage in often absurd behaviour. Frequently clashing with his stern father (Armando Brancia) and defended by his doting mother (Pupella Maggio), Titta witnesses the actions of a wide range of characters, from his extended family to Fascist loyalists to sensual women, with certain moments shifting into fantastical scenarios.
The film's title is an univerbation (words combined to form a single word) of the Romagnol phrase a m'arcôrd (I remember). The title then became a neologism of the Italian language, with the meaning of "nostalgic revocation".
“Do you commit impure acts? Do you touch yourself? Do you know Saint Louis weeps when you touch yourself?”
